What is switchel anyways?
Switchel. It’s a word that won’t show up without being spell checked. Why is that? Long known for its restorative effects, switchel was used by farmer’s during late-summer harvests for years. It was during the winter, however, that our founder discovered switchel. A cough that dragged on for months (hey, it’s Minnesota) got her up one night, and found her searching for something to drink to help with a cough. She mixed up her first batch of switchel in a shot glass at midnight, drank it, felt better, went to bed. The next day, she started experimenting and doing taste tests and soon, St. Paul Switchel was a real thing.
Today, each batch of St. Paul Switchel is craft brewed to our high standards.
